The volume of insurance payouts in Kyrgyzstan continues to increase, indicating a growing interest among the population in insurance. Aktan Turumbekov, the director of the Insurance and Reinsurance Department of the State Insurance Organization, shared this data on the air of Birinchi Radio.
According to information from the State Insurance Organization, by 2025, the total volume of insurance compensations already amounts to 128.5 million soms. Turumbekov noted that such growth in indicators is a result of increasing risks from natural disasters and emphasizes the importance of financial instruments for protection.
Regarding housing insurance, this year the State Insurance Organization paid out 30.5 million soms across 236 cases. At the same time, last year the payout amount was 37 million soms with 240 registered cases.
The director of the State Insurance Organization also noted that although the number of natural disasters is not increasing, it is encouraging that more and more people are realizing the need to insure their homes and are participating in the state program.
According to Turumbekov, the increase in payouts is due to the growing number of insurance contracts concluded. In Kyrgyzstan, about 1.25 million houses are registered, of which more than 355 thousand are already insured, accounting for 28-29% of the total housing stock. In comparison, in 2024 this figure was only 20%.
Thus, over the past year, the share of houses subject to mandatory insurance has increased by almost 50%, which, according to the State Insurance Organization, indicates a growing trust among citizens in state insurance mechanisms and an understanding of the importance of protecting their property.
