According to information voiced on "Birinchi Radio" by thoracic oncologist Ulan Balpaev from the National Center for Oncology and Hematology, respiratory diseases account for about 30% of the total number of illnesses in Kyrgyzstan.

The specialist emphasized that this includes a variety of conditions, such as viral infections, pneumonia, ARVI, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tuberculosis, and lung cancer.

Ulan Balpaev also noted that in recent years there has been an increase in the number of patients seeking medical attention, which is related to the growing population, especially in Bishkek.

However, there is also positive dynamics: more and more people are coming for examinations without obvious symptoms, which is a good sign.

"Tumors are sometimes detected by chance when patients undergo examinations before surgery with other specialists, and an X-ray reveals a problem. This allows for the disease to be detected at early stages, significantly increasing the chances of successful treatment," he added.
The doctor emphasized that fluorography is a mandatory annual procedure for all citizens over the age of 18.
This is the first stage of diagnosis: if suspicious areas appear on the image, the patient is referred for a computed tomography scan and further examination.

Ulan Balpaev urged employers in sectors where regular medical check-ups are mandatory not to ignore the necessity of fluorography for their employees.
