Polluted air and stress caused by urbanization negatively affect not only the lungs but also the entire organ system. As noted by thoracic oncologist Ulan Balpaev from the National Center for Oncology and Hematology in an interview with AКIpress, smoke is one of the main risk factors for the respiratory tract, as polluted air settles in the lungs, which can lead to various diseases.

Balpaev advises spending more time outdoors to protect the lungs in conditions of worsening ecology and during the cold season. Walks in parks with greenery will be especially beneficial. Residents of Bishkek and other polluted cities are recommended to go out of town to breathe cleaner air.

In the context of the spread of viral infections, it is important to maintain a proper diet, consume vitamins, and strengthen the immune system. It is advisable to take care of hardening the body in advance.

He also emphasized that, in addition to regular ventilation of premises, it is important to use air purifiers and humidifiers. When ventilating during smog, we may bring dirty air into the home. Therefore, it is worth turning on the air purifier daily to ensure constant air circulation.

The humidifier should be used as needed, as standard steam heaters do not always significantly reduce humidity, but some types of heaters can do this considerably. In such cases, it is recommended to install a humidity sensor and regularly monitor the humidity level in the room.

Moreover, every adult should undergo fluorography annually and, if there are deviations from the norm, undergo additional examinations, the oncologist added.
