“Diabetes is a widely spread endocrine disease, and we can talk about a real pandemic that is growing at a geometric progression. This chronic condition is characterized by elevated blood glucose levels and can manifest with symptoms such as thirst, dry mouth, frequent urination, weight changes, vision deterioration, as well as tingling and burning in the limbs. In elderly people, skin itching may be observed,” Karymshakova noted.
She also emphasized that more than 90% of all patients suffer from type II diabetes, which often progresses without pronounced symptoms or goes unnoticed at all. This highlights the importance of regular monitoring of blood glucose levels.
It is important to note that November 14 is World Diabetes Day. On this day in Bishkek, at the "Asia Mall" shopping center, a diagnostic event will take place from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
