Psychiatrist Yulia Ulitina shared important recommendations for identifying signs of deteriorating mental health on the air of "Birinchi Radio." She noted that attention should be paid not only to emotional state but also to physical well-being and cognitive functions.

According to the specialist, if a person experiences problems with memory, attention, speech, as well as sleep disturbances, and issues with the cardiovascular and digestive systems, this may indicate possible mental health disorders. A constant feeling of anxiety is also a warning signal.

“If temporary difficulties disappear after resolving a specific problem, this is considered normal. However, if sleep disturbances, appetite changes, and anxiety persist even after the problem is resolved, it is worth considering a consultation with a specialist,” Ulitina added.

She also mentioned that help for depression, insomnia, panic attacks, and post-traumatic disorders is provided in the psychosomatic disorders department. This is an open department where there are no patients who pose a danger to themselves or others. In cases where a patient threatens themselves or others, inpatient treatment in a closed-type department may be required, the doctor clarified.
