In addition, the banks' deposit base also increased by 35%, amounting to 804 billion soms. Karabaeva emphasized that a significant part of this growth is related to the increase in loans and deposits in the national currency.
The process of dedollarization continues: in 2022, the share of loans in dollars was 22%, and today it has decreased to 18%. The share of dollars in deposits over the same period fell from more than 45% to 34%.
"Of the 804 billion soms in deposits, only 34% are in dollars. This is a positive trend that indicates the growing trust of citizens in the national currency and the banking system," noted the representative of the National Bank.
