Almaz Shaukulov, head of the city statistics department of the mayor's office, explained that the annual accounting of pets is carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Statistical Committee throughout the country, including all populated areas.
Shaukulov noted: "With the expansion of Bishkek's territory after the reform, there has been a demand for accounting in the new populated areas. Pet owners should be aware of this process. The accounting is conducted from December 5 to 25 by a joint order of state bodies."
To collect information about pets, neighborhood committees and MTU chairpersons will be involved, and they are the ones to whom data can be submitted. This information is necessary for statistics related to livestock slaughter, milk yields, egg production, and other indicators.
"There is no need to panic if someone comes to you with questions. You can simply report the number of pets without letting them onto your property," emphasized Shaukulov.Additionally, he added that this year the accounting also includes cats and dogs, which were not accounted for previously. "Now they are included in the statistics again, although they should not be counted in apartments," he clarified.
