According to the latest data, from January to September of this year, there has been a significant increase in bank lending in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the segments of consumer loans, trade, and mortgage programs.
According to the National Statistics Committee, as of October 1, the credit portfolio of the banking sector reached 461.1 billion soms, which represents an increase of 1.5 times or 160.3 billion soms compared to the same period last year.
Of the total volume of loans, the majority, specifically 379.1 billion soms (82.2% of the portfolio), was issued in the national currency.
The structure of lending is distributed as follows:
Consumer loans amount to 165.1 billion soms (35.8%);
Trade — 109.4 billion soms (23.7%);
Mortgage lending — 50.7 billion soms (11%);
Agriculture — 49.7 billion soms (10.8%).
In the structure of the portfolio, long-term loans dominate, accounting for 87.4%, while short-term loans make up 12.6%.
The largest volumes of lending are observed among borrowers from Bishkek, who account for 52% of the total portfolio, followed by the Jalal-Abad region with a share of 10.1%.
The increase in lending activity indicates the strengthening of the country's financial system and the growing demand for borrowed funds from both the population and businesses.
