The system is created for effective management of water resources
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the launch of the Automated Information System "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW) as part of its program for the digitalization of the water resources service.
This new system is designed for effective management of water resources, especially in the field of irrigation, with an emphasis on improving planning, accounting, and monitoring of water supply, as well as increasing transparency in the use of water resources.
The AIS UISW consolidates information about water bodies, water users, water management facilities, and irrigation systems in one digital space. It provides the ability to plan the supply of irrigation water, track water consumption, analyze quantitative and qualitative parameters of water, and generate mandatory reports.
Geoinformation technologies (GIS) are integrated into the system, which help maintain spatial data on surface water resources, irrigation systems, water management facilities, and irrigated areas, taking into account types of agricultural crops.
The launch of the AIS "Unified Information System for Water" across Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for early 2026. Further phased updates of the system, expansion of its functionality, automation of public services, and the introduction of digital services for water resource users are planned.
