The work on the automated information system "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW) has been completed in Kyrgyzstan. This project was initiated as part of the digital transformation program, as reported by the Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
The new platform has been created for effective management of irrigation water. It integrates data on water users, irrigation systems, and hydraulic structures into a single digital framework. Thanks to this system, automated planning of water supply, precise monitoring of water consumption, and analysis of the qualitative characteristics of resources are possible.
The AIS UISW is based on geoinformation technologies, which allows for spatial data management on surface waters and irrigated areas with detail on specific agricultural crops, specialists from the agency note.
The system is expected to be put into industrial operation across the country in early 2026. In the future, the developers plan to expand the platform's functionality by adding automated government services and special digital services for farmers and water users, the ministry reported.
