The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the start of pilot operation of an automated information system (AIS) designed to process applications for tariff quotas for the import of certain types of meat. This step aims to fully transition the quota management process to a digital format, which, in turn, should enhance the transparency of the ministry's operations and reduce the risks of corruption.

Available at quota.agro.gov.kg, the new platform creates a unified digital space for importers and ministry staff. Suppliers can now easily register, submit applications, and track their status in real-time, receiving notifications to their email. The system is also integrated with the databases of the Ministry of Justice, allowing for automatic verification of company information and eliminating the need for additional paper documents.

An important aspect of the AIS operation is the fair distribution of quotas. The procedure takes place in three stages, considering the interests of both new market participants and existing suppliers. The system also provides the opportunity for online monitoring of actual import volumes and maintaining electronic registers with the function of exporting documents in PDF format. It is expected that the transition to a paperless document flow will not only reduce the time for processing applications but also significantly increase the level of trust among entrepreneurs in government structures by minimizing the human factor in the decision-making process.
