As part of the pilot project initiated by the Veterinary Service, as well as the Department of Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the implementation of the Pasture Management Concept is planned. This project will begin in the Naryn region, as announced by the Deputy Director of the Service, Ishenbek Alambetov, at a seminar dedicated to the topic of "Improving the Condition of Pastures and Their Rational Use."

Pasture lands are a crucial resource for agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the livestock sector. In the Naryn region, which has the most extensive pastures in the country, there is a growing threat of degradation of these lands due to complex climatic conditions, mountainous terrain, and increased pressure on pastures. Therefore, the new concept aims for the sustainable and rational use of pasture resources.

The main objective of the concept is to ensure the sustainable use of pastures in the Naryn region, minimize degradation processes, restore pasture resources, and enhance livestock productivity. This, in turn, should contribute to improving the socio-economic situation of the local population. The concept is based on the principles of sustainability, community-oriented management, scientific justification, transparency, and digitalization.

As part of this project, it is planned that all revenues from pasture fees will be directed towards the development of the pasture sector, and a specialized legal entity will be created—a state pasture enterprise or a special pasture fund. This will ensure financial independence, targeted use of funds, transparency, and sustainability in management.
