To boost agricultural processing in Kyrgyzstan, plans are in place to establish 385 enterprises

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has set an ambitious goal: to increase the level of agricultural product processing to 25 percent by 2030. The press service of the ministry shared this information.

According to the plan, called the "Plan for the Development of the Processing Industry," the republic aims to create 385 new enterprises, covering both districts and rural areas. This is expected to strengthen the raw material base and reduce product losses.

The process of establishing new enterprises will be distributed as follows:
These enterprises will be equipped with facilities for the storage and processing of various products: meat, milk, fish, leather, wool, as well as vegetables and fruits, along with other agro-industrial facilities.

When designing new facilities, the specifics of agricultural crops in different regions will be taken into account. The largest number of enterprises is planned to be opened in the Chuy region (7 TLCs and 78 processing plants) and the Issyk-Kul region (6 TLCs and 66 processing plants).

The implementation of this project will be carried out in cooperation with local authorities and will serve as a foundation for economic growth in the regions. It is expected that the implementation of this plan will lead to:
