During the monitoring of the agro-industrial complex, cases of uncontrolled use of antibiotics in the production and processing of milk were recorded, which poses a serious threat to both product quality and consumer health. There have also been instances of adding antibiotics to milk to extend its shelf life.
According to the ministry, the presence of antibiotics in milk can lead to the following negative consequences:
- threats to consumer health (allergic reactions, development of antibiotic resistance);
- deterioration of dairy product quality (disruptions in fermentation, inability to produce yogurts, cheeses, and other products);
- financial losses for farmers due to dairy processing enterprises refusing to accept milk with antibiotic residues, leading to conflicts between producers and processors.
The use of chemotherapeutic antibacterial veterinary drugs for preventive purposes, as well as for stimulating the productivity of agricultural animals, is prohibited.An illustrative photo is used on the main page: depositphotos.com.
