As part of the digitalization program conducted by the Water Resources Service, an automated information system called the "Unified Information System for Water" (AIS UISW) has been developed. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The new system aims at comprehensive management of water resources, particularly in the area of irrigation, with the goal of improving the efficiency of planning, accounting, and monitoring of water supply, as well as ensuring transparency in the use of water resources.
The AIS UISW allows for the collection and processing of data on objects and participants in the irrigation fund, water users, water management facilities, and irrigation systems within a unified digital space. This system provides for the planning of irrigation water supply, accounting and monitoring of water consumption, analysis of quantitative and qualitative indicators of water, as well as the formation of necessary reporting.
The integration of geographic information technologies (GIS) into the platform allows for spatial accounting of data on surface water resources, irrigation systems, water management facilities, and irrigated areas, taking into account the agricultural crops planted.
It is expected that the AIS "Unified Information System for Water" will be put into industrial operation throughout the country in early 2026. In the future, a phased update of the system is planned, expanding its functionality, automating public services, and implementing digital services for water users.
