During the discussions, participants addressed the current state of the country's water resources, as well as the prospects for irrigation development and the need to formulate an investment strategy.
Deputy Minister of Water Resources Almaz Zheenaliev noted that several key documents have already been developed in Kyrgyzstan, including the National Water Strategy until 2040, the National Development Program until 2030, the updated Water Code, and the Presidential Decree on measures to develop the agro-industrial complex.
According to preliminary estimates, investments in irrigation should be directed towards projects such as the construction of reservoirs, modernization of canals, implementation of water-saving technologies, and digitization of the water accounting system.
