Kyrgyzstan will continue to provide tariff benefits for the import of electric vehicles in 2026, while significantly increasing the volume of imports. This was announced by Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EAEU Coordination Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, at a press conference at the Kabar agency.
In the current year, the quota for duty-free import of electric vehicles has increased from 10,000 to 15,000 units. Initially, this proposal faced some resistance from EAEU partners; however, at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in December 2025, the initiative was approved.
“This benefit applies to both pure electric vehicles and vehicles with a series hybrid drive, including well-known models from the Lixiang/Li Auto brand,” he added.
