A tariff benefit for the import of cocoa butter has been introduced in the EAEU

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to introduce a tariff benefit for the import of cocoa butter, as announced by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.

According to this resolution, cocoa butter classified under the EAEU HS code 1804000000 will be exempt from import customs duties for up to 300 tons per year. This benefit will be in effect annually and will last until April 30, 2027.

This initiative is aimed at supporting confectionery and food enterprises in the EAEU member states, as well as promoting the development of local production and increasing added value within the Union.

To obtain the benefit, a document confirming the right to its application is required, which must be issued by the authorized body of one of the EAEU member states. This document must specify both the importers and the volumes of cocoa butter permitted for import within the established limit.

Imported cocoa butter may only be used for processing and production of finished products on the territory of the respective EAEU member state. Other uses of the raw material are not permitted.

This approach is intended to stimulate local production and improve the competitiveness of goods produced within the Union.
