The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Kyrgyz Republic reports on the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council to establish a tariff exemption on the import of cocoa butter.

According to this decision, the import customs duty on cocoa butter under the EAEU commodity code 1804000000 will be canceled for volumes up to 300 tons per year.

This exemption will be in effect annually with the possibility of extension until April 30, 2027.

"The aim of this initiative is to support confectionery and food companies in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as to promote the development of domestic production and increase added value within the union," the press release emphasizes.

Imported cocoa butter can only be used for processing and production of finished products on the territory of the respective EAEU member state. Other uses of the raw material are not permitted.

This measure is also aimed at stimulating local production and enhancing the competitiveness of goods produced within the union.
