The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry reported that Kyrgyzstan has received a tariff concession for the import of raw materials necessary for sugar production.

This decision was made in Moscow during a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), where the concession was officially announced.

According to the new resolution, until the end of 2026, Kyrgyzstan is exempt from paying import duties on 20,000 tons of raw cane sugar. This measure is aimed at supporting local processors and stabilizing sugar prices in the country.

In addition, the EEC Council approved a draft protocol to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, which includes the launch of a financial support mechanism for intergovernmental cooperative programs in the agro-industrial complex using the union's budget.

The ministry noted that previously such financing tools were only applied to industrial projects, but now they will also be extended to agriculture.
