
As a result of the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council held on January 30, several decisions were made aimed at supporting the agro-industrial sector of Kyrgyzstan. This information was provided by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the agency's information, the new documents provide for exemption from import customs duties for a number of goods that have significant social and economic importance, which will be imported into Kyrgyzstan for domestic consumption and further processing.
Cattle Meat
Duration of this measure: until December 31, 2026
Supply volume: no more than 5 thousand tons
The benefits apply to fresh or chilled cattle meat (HS codes EAEU: 0201 …), as well as frozen meat (HS codes EAEU: 0202 …).
To obtain the benefit, it is necessary to have a document issued by the authorized body of the member country, which includes information about the importing organizations, as well as about the nomenclature and volumes of goods.
It is important to note that meat imported using these benefits can only be used for the production of meat products and exclusively by meat processing enterprises. The export of finished meat products made from preferential raw materials to the territory of other EAEU countries is not permitted.
Sugar
Duration of the measure: until December 31, 2026
Raw cane sugar (subposition 1701 13 EAEU HS)
Supply volume: no more than 20 thousand tons
The benefit applies in the presence of a document issued by the authorized body of Kyrgyzstan, which confirms the purpose of the goods and contains data on importers and processing organizations.
Raw sugar can only be used for industrial processing on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, and white sugar produced from preferential raw materials cannot be exported to other EAEU countries.
Citrus Fruits
Duration of the measure: until December 31, 2026
Exemption from import duties is provided for the following goods:
- fresh bananas (0803901000) — 3,000 tons
- fresh mandarins (0805210000) — 2,500 tons
- fresh table grapes (0806101000) — 1,500 tons
- fresh oranges (0805102000) — 1,000 tons
- fresh mangoes (0804500001) — 500 tons
- fresh kiwis (0810500000) — 500 tons
Duration of the measure: until April 30, 2027 (annually)
cocoa butter (EAEU HS code 1804000000) — 300 tons
The main objectives of the decisions made include:
- ensuring stable supply to the domestic market,
- supporting processing enterprises,
- containing prices for socially significant goods,
- developing the agro-industrial complex of Kyrgyzstan.
