At this meeting, a number of decisions were made aimed at strengthening the economic and food security of the member countries of the Union. One of the key points was the provision of a tariff benefit to Kyrgyzstan for the import of raw cane sugar. In 2026, the republic will be exempt from paying import customs duties on 20,000 tons, which will be an important support for local processing enterprises and help stabilize prices in the domestic sugar market.
Changes also affected the transport sector: at the initiative of the Kyrgyz side, the extension of customs preferences for the import of turboprop civilian aircraft until the end of 2028 was agreed upon. This measure is intended to renew the country's aviation fleet. A mechanism for financial support of joint agro-industrial projects was also launched, which will allow agricultural cooperatives to receive preferential financing from the EAEU budget.
In addition, new phytosanitary control rules were approved at the meeting, which will create more transparent conditions for fair business practices and enhance safety in the Union's markets. Support will also extend to the food industry: duty-free import of raw materials for confectionery production, including cocoa paste and cocoa butter, will be in effect until April 30, 2027. These measures are aimed at reducing costs for producers and ensuring sustainable development of key sectors of the republic's economy.
