Kyrgyzstan has successfully achieved significant economic concessions within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The head of the EAEU coordination department of the country's Ministry of Economy, Elimbek Kanybek uulu, announced at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency that, at Kyrgyzstan's initiative, tariff concessions have been introduced for a number of key goods, allowing them to be imported without paying customs duties.

One of the most significant decisions for citizens has been the exemption from duties on the import of frozen beef (bone-in). Until the end of 2026, it will be possible to import 5000 tons of meat into the country without additional costs. Previously, importers paid 15% of the product's value, but this rate has now been abolished. Similar changes have also affected raw sugar: until the end of 2026, there will be no duties on 20,000 tons of this product, which should help keep sugar prices stable within the country.

The preferential conditions also extend to the manufacturing sector. From 2023 to 2028, the republic will be able to import 300 tons of cocoa butter annually without paying duties, which will support the development of the confectionery industry. Additionally, for three years, duties on special equipment for processing textiles and leather, necessary for local producers, have been abolished. It is also worth noting that the aviation sector has received its preferences: the EEC Council has allowed Kyrgyzstan to bring in two passenger turboprop aircraft duty-free, aimed at updating the fleet and developing regional flights, making air travel between neighboring countries more accessible.
