Turmush continues to introduce readers to Kyrgyzstani people who have found their place beyond their homeland. In the spotlight is Aizhan Sadykova, who currently lives and works in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Aizhan was born in 1998 in the village of Kyzyl-Jyldyz, located in the Manas district of the Talas region. She currently works at a local beauty salon and received her education at the International University of Ala-Too in the finance department.

Career in Qatar

In 2019, during an "open house" event at Qatar Airways, Aizhan interviewed for a position in the Duty Free department. Out of 464 candidates, only about 60 were accepted, and she was among the first selected.

Despite being only 20 years old at the time, Qatar allows employment from the age of 21, and by the time she arrived, she had reached the necessary age.

After a successful interview, Aizhan took a position as a sales consultant at the airport, where she worked for three years. Before leaving this job, she considered eyelash extensions and reached out to Kyrgyz masters, but unfortunately, they couldn't assist her due to a lack of free time.

Therefore, she returned to Kyrgyzstan to undergo training and acquire the necessary skills to work in a salon. Learning about the demand for such services, she returned to Qatar and successfully interviewed for a new position at a beauty salon.

Aizhan notes that Qatar is a modern and safe state in the Middle East, characterized by cleanliness, order, and a high standard of living. Laws are strictly enforced here, creating a sense of safety and security for citizens. It is an international country that respects the cultural traditions of all peoples, and the main thing is to adhere to local customs.

Qatar is also known for its low crime rate, developed moral standards, and Islamic culture. It is one of the richest countries in the world, with high salaries and a developed infrastructure.

Impressions of Life in Qatar

"I was struck by the order, safety, and strict adherence to laws. In Qatar, time is valued, salaries are paid on time, and people's rights are protected. I was also impressed by how representatives of different nationalities live in peace and harmony," Aizhan shares.

She has achieved significant success, buying an apartment in Bishkek, sending her parents on Umrah, and organizing a trip for them to Turkey.

Working in Qatar has allowed her to travel extensively: she has visited Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, and other well-known cities in Europe, such as Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna, Frankfurt, Berlin, Rome, Milan, Florence, Pisa, and Venice.

Additionally, Aizhan visited the USA, particularly California, where she was in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. These trips significantly broadened her horizons and allowed her to better understand different cultures.

She also bought a car in Qatar, although obtaining a driver's license here turned out to be quite a complicated process," she added.

Testing Resilience

In 2019, after a year of work, Aizhan faced the pandemic: "Airports closed, and we spent 6-7 months at home. It was not easy; at times, I felt lonely. However, the company continued to pay salaries, which was a great support.

Living abroad, away from family and not knowing what was happening, was very difficult. But this challenge became a serious lesson for me and taught me patience.

When I first arrived, there were few Kyrgyz people in the country — about 700-800. Now there are many more, especially among newcomers from CIS countries like Kazakhstan and Russia.

We would like to meet with our compatriots more often, but everyone has their own job and schedule, so meetings now happen less frequently than before," she noted.

Sports, Life, and Future Plans

"In my free time, I engage in sports, take care of my health, dance, and meet with friends from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, supporting each other," Aizhan said.

Her plans include opening her own business and achieving success both in Qatar and Kyrgyzstan, as well as developing her blog to help more people.

Aizhan married an Egyptian, and although they do not have children yet, they have been happily married for a year.
