Almost 79 thousand people applied for driver's license replacements

From January 15 to 21, 2026, a total of 78,959 applications were submitted as part of the replacement of indefinite driver’s licenses with new samples. This became known on January 23 after a check at the State Institution "Unaa," where the exchange process is taking place.

According to representatives of the State Institution "Unaa" under the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, many old indefinite licenses contain photographs of citizens taken 20-30 years ago, which complicates identification. "These figures confirm that the population takes the issue of license replacement seriously, and the demand for this service is significant," they noted during the inspection.

It is worth reminding that the mass exchange of outdated driver’s licenses began on January 12. To replace indefinite licenses, it is sufficient to provide two documents: a passport of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic (or an ID card) and the old license. A medical certificate of form 083 and a certificate of completion of a driving school are not required for those replacing an expired document. Applications can be submitted both online through the state services portal "Tunduk" and offline by visiting the State Institution "Unaa."
