The State Security Service under the President of Kyrgyzstan has been established based on the ninth service of the GKNB

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a decree aimed at improving the protection of protected individuals and facilities. The decree in question establishes the following provisions:

1. The creation of the State Security Service under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, based on the ninth service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter referred to as the State Security Service).

2. The determination that the State Security Service is a special state body, directly subordinate to the president and accountable to him, which is part of the national security system and carries out protective measures within its competence.

3. The establishment of the following norms:

– the appointment and dismissal of the chairman of the State Security Service is carried out by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic;

– the appointment and dismissal of the deputy chairmen is done by the president upon the recommendation of the chairman of the State Security Service.

4. The legal basis for the operation of the State Security Service consists of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Law "On State Security," this decree, and other regulatory acts.

5. The approval of the regulations on the State Security Service, its staffing levels, and structure will be carried out by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

6. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic:

– must align its decisions with this decree;

– must take additional measures arising from the decree.

7. The decree comes into force upon its official publication.
