
The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree aimed at improving measures for the protection of protected objects and individuals. In accordance with Articles 70 and 71 of the Constitution of the country, the decree stipulates the following:
The establishment of the State Security Service under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic based on the 9th Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter referred to as the State Security Service).
The State Security Service will be a special state body that is directly subordinate to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and is responsible for implementing measures to ensure the safety of protected individuals and objects within its competence established by the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It is established that:
– The Chairman of the State Security Service is appointed and dismissed by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic;
– The Deputy Chairmen of the State Security Service are appointed and dismissed by the President upon the recommendation of the Chairman of the Service.
The legal basis for the activities of the State Security Service includes the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On State Security," this decree, and other regulatory legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The regulation on the State Security Service, as well as its staffing and structure, will be approved by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic is instructed to:
– Bring its decisions in line with this decree;
– Take other measures arising from this decree.
The decree comes into force from the moment of its official publication.
