President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov signed a decree appointing Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov as the chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
Jumgalbek Kumaro vich Shabdanbekov, born in 1970 in the village of Chayek, located in the Jumgal district of Naryn region, received higher education at the Faculty of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn, which he graduated from in 1991.
Since 2022, he has held the rank of Major General.
Immediately after receiving his diploma, Shabdanbekov began his career as a senior inspector in the Talas tax inspection office.
Since 1994 and up to the present, he has held various responsible positions in the GKNB, the State Guard Service, the Anti-Terrorism Center, counterintelligence, the R-Department, the AKS, and also served as the head of the 9th service.
