In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, a unique world map will be created, with Issyk-Kul marked as the center of the Earth.
The initiative belongs to the Secretary of State of the Kyrgyz Republic, Arslan Koichiev, who has instructed the implementation of the project. A copy of the map created in the 11th century by the renowned scholar Mahmud Kashgari-Barskani will serve as a symbol for the events dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of this outstanding figure. On this map, created during the Islamic Renaissance in Central Asia, Issyk-Kul is depicted as the center of the world.
According to the directive, the Ministry of Culture will be responsible for conducting a competition to select the best map design.
