Expert: One meat cluster will be able to cover about 1% of market demand
As Mamytkanov clarified, about 150 million soms are allocated to implement the project for one cluster association. Of this amount, around 82 million soms will be used to purchase livestock, while approximately 68 million will be distributed among the participants in the chain: the fattening company, the supplier, and the product sales.
According to the expert's calculations, with the allocated funds, one cluster will be able to purchase and fatten approximately 400–450 head of cattle.
“In Bishkek, about 300–400 bulls are slaughtered daily. Based on this, the meat volume that one cluster can provide will be about 1% of total consumption. It will take about six months to fatten 450 head,” noted Mamytkanov.
He also added that even if 10 similar clusters are created, their total volume will be approximately 4,500 head of cattle, which will supply the market for about 100 days at the current consumption level.
The expert emphasized that launching this project is crucial for the industry, as it is a pilot project and can be expanded in the future.
In his opinion, regular funding for such initiatives, for example, at the level of 1.5 billion soms per year, will significantly scale the mechanism over several years.
Additionally, Mamytkanov pointed out the need for further development of the pilot project so that it is not halted at the initial stage.
