On March 9, 2026, at the "Ak-Tilek Road" border crossing point, the Chuy-Bishkek Department of the Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Chemicalization Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan conducted a quarantine phytosanitary inspection. During the inspection, discrepancies were found in the data indicated in the phytosanitary certificate concerning 56 tons of onions imported from Kazakhstan.

During the inspection, it was established that the information in the certificate did not match the data presented in the transport (shipping) documents.

According to paragraph 3.7 of the Regulation on the Procedure for Conducting Quarantine Phytosanitary Control (Supervision) on the Customs Territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, approved by the Decision of the Customs Union Commission dated June 18, 2010, No. 318, the import of this batch of products into the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic was prohibited, and the cargo was returned to the sender.

The Ministry of Agriculture reminds of the necessity of strict compliance with phytosanitary standards when importing agricultural products.
