The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Latif Gandilov.

During this meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of strengthening political, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries, as well as deepening cooperation between their parliaments.

Mamataliyev emphasized that developing relations with Azerbaijan is one of the key directions of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy strategy.

"The existing friendly relations between the leaders of our countries contribute to the development of political dialogue. Currently, cooperation is actively expanding in all areas, including bilateral visits and the signing of significant agreements. It is important to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation to implement the agreements reached," he noted.

The Speaker expressed the readiness of the Jogorku Kenesh for productive cooperation with the Milli Majlis.

"It is necessary to continue active contacts between the relevant committees and friendship groups, as parliamentary diplomacy plays an important role in the strategic partnership of our countries," Mamataliyev added.

Ambassador Gandilov also spoke about current projects being implemented between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, including investment initiatives within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund.

According to him, the fund's capital has been increased to 100 million US dollars, which will allow for financing large projects interest-free.

Additionally, the participants of the discussion touched upon issues of joint cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, and culture, as well as inter-parliamentary interaction within international organizations.
