Today, February 23, a meeting took place between the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh Marlen Mamataliyev and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, as reported by the parliament's press service.
During the conversation, the directions for expanding cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres were discussed, as well as the development of inter-parliamentary relations.
Marlen Mamataliyev expressed Kyrgyzstan's interest in deepening and strengthening friendly ties with Uzbekistan, noting: "We must continue to enhance our strategic partnership in the same spirit."
The Chairman confirmed that active relations between the leaders of the states create a strong impetus for achieving new heights in cooperation, emphasizing the importance of bilateral working visits for strengthening ties.
Moreover, he noted that parliamentary diplomacy plays a key role in implementing the agreements reached. "In recent years, we have successfully developed cooperation in this area, paying special attention to Kyrgyz-Uzbek inter-parliamentary partnership. We are also actively working on international platforms such as the CIS IPA and TurkPA," he added.
Marlen Mamataliyev also briefly spoke about the activities of the inter-parliamentary commission for cooperation, emphasizing its significance for expanding ties.
Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, in turn, thanked Marlen Mamataliyev for the warm welcome and congratulated him on his election as Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh. He conveyed greetings from the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva and the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber Nuriddin Ismoilov.
The ambassador also noted that Uzbekistan supports the active development of Kyrgyzstan and its achievements, as well as shared his plans for deepening bilateral cooperation within the framework of his diplomatic mission.
