The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, recently met with the German Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Monika Lenhard.
According to the press service of the parliament, at the beginning of the meeting, he congratulated the ambassador on the start of her work in the country and expressed confidence that her experience would help strengthen bilateral relations.
Mamataliyev emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue for the development of cooperation between the states.
"Germany has a rich history of parliamentarism, and it is particularly important for us to exchange experiences in the field of legislation," he noted.
The Speaker also reminded that three years ago, a delegation from the Bundestag, representing the parliamentary friendship group "Germany - Central Asia," visited Kyrgyzstan, where constructive negotiations were held to deepen cooperation.
In this context, he announced plans to make an official visit to Germany in the near future.
"We strive for our meetings to bring mutual benefits. I am confident that important negotiations aimed at strengthening Kyrgyz-German ties will be held during the official visit," he added.
In addition, the Speaker emphasized the need to develop trade and economic relations between the two countries.
"Last year, the fifth meeting of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council and a business forum took place in Berlin, during which 15 memorandums were signed and various agreements were concluded. We must continue to develop these ties and address issues in the field of trade and logistics. Kyrgyzstan is interested in strengthening its status as a transport hub in the region," he noted.
Lenhard, for her part, congratulated Mamataliyev on his election and thanked him for the warm welcome.
The ambassador confirmed her readiness to provide comprehensive support in organizing his visit and expressed Germany's interest in developing partnerships with Kyrgyzstan in various areas, including strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.
She expressed the opinion on the importance of regular political consultations and expanding trade and economic cooperation.
