The Speaker met with the UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic

The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turghunbek uulu, held a meeting with Antje Grave, the UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects and directions of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN, as well as plans for joint projects in the future.

Nurlanbek uulu emphasized that the republic actively interacts with the UN on many issues.

“We strive for further deepening our partnership and implementing joint initiatives in various areas. The Jogorku Kenesh, as the main legislative body, is ready for active cooperation,” he noted.

The Speaker also drew attention to the growth of the gross domestic product and the successful indicators of the domestic economy in recent years.

“We have a lot of work planned until 2030. The President sets serious tasks, and the parliament is making every effort to fulfill them,” he added.

Antje Grave, for her part, congratulated the Speaker on his re-election and emphasized that her office is interested in continuous cooperation with the Kyrgyz parliament.

She noted that the UN highly values Kyrgyzstan's efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and pays attention to developing partnerships in this area.

Grave also mentioned the work of the Council on Women’s Rights, Children, and Gender Equality of the Jogorku Kenesh. Citing successful initiatives from this platform, she expressed readiness to provide comprehensive support for the Council's active participation in upcoming international events.
