The Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan summarized its activities for the past year and outlined its work directions for 2026.

Gathering more than 500,000 determined and active women, the Congress represents the largest and most cohesive public organization in the country. The President of the Congress, Zamira Akbagysheva, noted that over the past year, more than 50,000 women from all corners of Kyrgyzstan joined the organization. This underscores the influence and authority of the Congress, as well as the unity of women around important issues and tasks that contribute to the development of the country. Thus, the Congress has become not only a platform for interaction but also an important conduit for relevant state issues.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, the women's business community, and leaders from various fields, including regional branches of the Congress, attended the meeting. Participants shared their projects and initiatives, which formed the basis of their work last year.

The main goal of the Congress is to create conditions for the realization of the potential of Kyrgyz women in all spheres. For example, the project "Educated Woman - Educated Country," launched in Bishkek with the support of the Chinese Embassy, has become an important step in the fight against poverty and ensuring gender equality. Zamira Akbagysheva emphasized that access to education is crucial for women's independence. The project has proven so popular that it can be considered indefinite, constantly updated according to needs.

As part of this project, with the help of the Chinese Embassy and the All-China Women's Federation, a center for training sewing masters was opened. During its operation, hundreds of women have been trained and have become professionals, some of whom have started their own businesses. The head of the center takes pride in its growing popularity, noting that women from all regions are eager to master this in-demand profession.

Additionally, an IT technology classroom was created at the Institute of History and Regional Studies of the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University for women wishing to learn information technology. At the V International Forum of Turkic Peoples, Chinese Ambassador Liu Jiangping donated laptops for the establishment of similar classrooms in all regions where free computer literacy courses are held.

The Congress also actively works with women entrepreneurs. According to Zamira Akbagysheva, more than 40% of small enterprises in the country are managed by women. Analysis showed that women want to unite, receive information about support measures, and access international markets. During delegation trips to Italy and Germany, Akbagysheva established connections with the sportswear manufacturer "Macron." A tender was held in Kyrgyzstan, resulting in a local sewing shop becoming a production partner, producing clothing samples for quality assessment in Italy.

In October, a forum titled "Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development," organized by the Congress and the women's community of the State Corporation "Rosatom," confirmed that women's partnership plays an important role in development. Women from Kyrgyzstan and Russia, utilizing their potential, are ready to become a driving force for the sustainable development of both countries' economies. The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Temir Sariev, noted that Kyrgyz women know how to set priorities and confidently enter business despite challenges.

At the end of October, a conference was held in Bishkek dedicated to the outcomes of the Global Women's Summit in Beijing, where Zamira Akbagysheva represented the Kyrgyz women's community. She shared with conference participants the conclusions of the summit and directions for the development of the women's movement, including the opinions of UN representatives and other organizations.

The Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan, existing for over 30 years, actively engages in issues of women's entrepreneurship, humanitarian and educational projects, facilitating the unification of efforts to achieve the social and economic goals of the country. The positive results of the Congress's work are evident, and in the future, they may become even more noticeable with government support. The plans for this year are ambitious.

- This year, Kyrgyzstan is chairing the SCO, and the summit will take place in August in the capital. As part of the chairmanship, a forum for women from SCO countries will also be held, in the organization of which the Congress of Women will actively participate. We are confident that our women will succeed, - assured Zamira Akbagysheva, receiving approving applause.

- The strategy of our Congress this year will focus on the self-realization of women. We will support those who want to engage in business, assisting with retraining and employment. Preserving women's health remains important, which was discussed by doctors and members of our Congress. The main thing is that women feel protected and know that we together represent a positive force.

Zamira Akbagysheva noted that among the key issues in the Congress's focus are care for older women and mothers of many children, as well as expanding international contacts to create new projects.

- Our main goal is to unite efforts and successful projects in the interests of every woman in the country. The strength of the Congress lies in our women's solidarity, - concluded the President of the Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan, Zamira Akbagysheva.
