According to the agency, loans are available for women working in the service and manufacturing sectors, as well as for legal entities where the share of women founders is at least 50%. The main goal of this program is to support businesses in the regions; however, residents of Bishkek and Osh are not eligible for loans at this rate.
To obtain a loan, individuals must have a valid patent or a certificate of registration as an individual entrepreneur. Legal entities are required to have a certificate of state registration.
The loan amount ranges from 50,000 to 3 million soms and is provided for a term of up to three years. A grace period for borrowers is also provided.
The implementation of the program with 12% loans has been made possible thanks to the support of the Asian Development Bank, which allocated 22 million soms for the development of women’s entrepreneurship on co-financing terms. The Entrepreneurship Development Fund will also add another 22 million soms from its own funds, resulting in a total of 44 million soms to support women entrepreneurs.
“Supporting women’s entrepreneurship is one of the priorities of the Fund. In the first ten months of this year, 253 women became recipients of loans for business development and expansion, with a total amount of 478 million 435.9 thousand soms,” the agency noted.
