According to information provided by RBC, the bill is aimed at protecting the strategic interests of the United States in the Arctic region, as well as countering potential threats from Russia and China.

According to Fain, Greenland represents a key resource for national security: "Whoever controls this island controls the most important Arctic routes and the security of the United States," he emphasized.

At this time, the bill has not yet been registered in the Congressional database. In a published press release, the congressman includes a proposal to the President of the United States to grant powers for the "annexation or other incorporation of Greenland into the United States," including the possibility of negotiating with Denmark.

After the annexation process is completed, the president will need to submit the necessary changes to federal legislation to Congress for the adoption of a "new state."

Fain also expressed the opinion that the policy pursued by former President Joe Biden has weakened the strategic positions of the United States in the Arctic, while China and Russia are "aggressively increasing their influence" in the region.

Greenland is currently part of the Kingdom of Denmark. It was a colony of Denmark until 1953 and has had autonomy and the right to self-governance since 2009.

It is worth noting that Donald Trump repeatedly expressed the need to incorporate Greenland into the United States during his second presidential term, emphasizing its strategic significance for the country's security.
