According to Axios, it is expected that the international contingent will ensure security in the region until 2027, with the possibility of extending the mandate. The first units of the MSB may be deployed as early as January 2026. Their tasks include securing the borders of the Gaza Strip with Israel and Egypt, protecting the civilian population and humanitarian corridors, as well as training Palestinian police. In addition, the forces will be engaged in stabilizing the situation and controlling demilitarization, which implies the dismantling of Hamas's military infrastructure.

One American representative emphasized that this is not a peacekeeping mission, but rather so-called "coercive forces." Countries such as Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Turkey are considering participation in this operation. Command will be under the control of the "Gaza Board of Peace," likely chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The MSB will operate during a transitional period when Israel will gradually withdraw its troops, and the Palestinian administration will implement necessary reforms. The resolution also envisions expanding the powers of the "Gaza Board of Peace" as a temporary administration responsible for distributing financial resources for the reconstruction of Gaza until the completion of Palestinian reforms.

Previously, Donald Trump presented a 20-point plan for resolving the conflict, which includes a phased ceasefire, the release of hostages, demilitarization, and the reconstruction of the Palestinian enclave. The first part of the agreement was signed in October, after which there was a mutual release of hostages and prisoners.
