U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed the Pentagon to prepare a plan for possible military actions in Nigeria aimed at combating terrorists who are committing mass killings of Christians. He announced this in his post on the Truth Social platform.

Trump emphasized that if the Nigerian leadership does not take measures to protect Christians, the U.S. will be forced to halt aid to Nigeria and may even consider military intervention to eliminate Islamic terrorists. "If we decide to act, it will be swift and effective," he noted, urging Nigerian authorities to take urgent action.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that the U.S. armed forces are in the process of preparing for possible actions in Nigeria.

"The Nigerian government must take responsibility for protecting Christians. Otherwise, we will be forced to eliminate those who commit these horrific crimes," he stated on the social network X.

On October 31, Trump called on lawmakers to initiate an investigation into the mass killings of Christians in Nigeria carried out by radical Islamists and to provide him with the results of the analysis. He also pointed to Nigeria being designated as a country of "particular concern."

Meanwhile, Nigerian authorities have denied Trump's statements. The country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that claims of "mass extermination of Christians" are not true and do not reflect the actual security situation.
