
In an interview with Fox News, Trump noted that the U.S. is already applying "significant sanctions against Russia." He added that the state of the Russian economy leaves much to be desired, however, it is significantly larger and more powerful than the Ukrainian economy.
Senator Lindsey Graham previously reported that a vote on the bill is expected next week. He noted that the proposed document will give the U.S. president the ability to impose secondary sanctions and tariffs on imports from countries that continue to purchase oil and gas from Russia. According to the senator, the majority of Congress members, both Democrats and Republicans, support this bill.
