The state of trade and sanitation leaves much to be desired
The authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Chui region, Azamat Osmonov, called the conditions at the livestock market in Tokmak "a disgrace for the region."
On December 8, at 6 a.m., an inspection of the trading places and working conditions at the market was conducted. During the raid, serious violations were discovered.
The access to the market is in extremely poor condition—mud and washed-out areas hinder vehicle movement and create dangerous conditions for pedestrians. Inside the market itself, the situation also leaves much to be desired: narrow passages obstruct safe movement.
Additionally, the animal accounting system was checked. In the registration journal, where the number, type, owner, and ear tag number should be recorded, violations were found. The veterinary control also revealed significant deficiencies. Necessary documents are lacking—veterinary passports, certificates in form No. 1, and vaccination confirmations. Disinfection barriers are functioning irregularly, and the external examination of animals is not being conducted thoroughly.
Azamat Osmonov instructed to take measures to improve the situation at the livestock market and eliminate the identified violations.
