Trump also announced that special envoy Steve Whitcoff will travel to Moscow to meet with Vladimir Putin, while Army Secretary Dan Driscoll will negotiate with the Ukrainian side.

According to him, over the past week, the U.S. president's team has made significant progress in ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“The initial 28-point peace plan created by the United States has been revised to incorporate suggestions from both sides, and only a few contentious issues remain,” he noted.

Trump expressed hope for an early meeting with Putin and Zelensky but added that a meeting is only possible after a final agreement to end the war is reached.

Later, speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One, the U.S. president confirmed that Whitcoff will meet with Putin next week. He also mentioned that his son-in-law Jared Kushner is involved in the peace process and did not rule out his trip to Russia alongside the envoy.

The president emphasized that there is no set deadline for reaching an agreement.

As a result of negotiations held on November 23 in Geneva, the U.S. and Ukraine prepared an updated version of the peace plan, which has been reduced from 28 to 19 points. According to sources from ABC News, the new version excludes provisions regarding the number of Ukrainian troops and amnesty for parties involved in the conflict. The Financial Times also claims that Ukraine is ready to reduce its armed forces to 800,000 personnel.

Some representatives of the Trump administration believe that the changes proposed after the Geneva talks could lead to an immediate rejection of the plan by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as reported by The New York Times citing its sources.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak stated that Volodymyr Zelensky is eager to meet with Donald Trump as soon as possible to finalize the peace plan. The meeting could take place on November 27, and according to media reports, the discussion will cover "the most sensitive issues," including territorial disputes and Ukraine's potential NATO membership.

According to Axios, negotiations also took place in Abu Dhabi involving representatives from the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine, with Army Secretary Dan Driscoll participating.
