Trump noted that the peace plan, although criticized, must be accepted by the Ukrainian leader. "If he doesn't like it, then probably the fighting will have to continue," he added.
According to the American president, at some point, Zelensky will be forced to "accept something." He also reminded, "I said in the Oval Office: you have no cards. I inherited this war, and he should have made a deal a year or two ago."
Earlier, Trump mentioned that his administration set a deadline until next Thursday for Ukraine to agree to the proposed 28-point plan.
It has become known that Zelensky received a draft of the new peace agreement and hopes to discuss it with Trump in the coming days. The White House noted that the document is not yet final. Ukrainian MP Alexei Goncharenko previously published the 28 points concerning territorial issues, the country's reconstruction, and its political status.
