Western media: Trump's peace plan for Ukraine has been reduced from 28 to 19 points. What was removed?

negotiations between the USA and Ukraine in Geneva
A participant in the negotiations, advisor to the President of Ukraine Alexander Bevz, confirmed that the original peace plan of 28 points has been reduced to just 19. He noted that all opinions and comments from the Ukrainian side were taken into account. According to information from The Washington Post, the updated version of the document excluded points related to U.S.-Russian relations that are not relevant to resolving the crisis in Ukraine.

The publication also reports that the Ukrainian side insisted that the issue of NATO membership be discussed within the framework of the alliance's procedures, where decisions are made by consensus among member countries. This effectively excludes the possibility of a veto on NATO expansion, which was provided for in the previous version, WP notes.

Political aspects concerning territorial issues are planned to be discussed by Volodymyr Zelensky with Donald Trump. A source familiar with the results of the negotiations told Politico that this could happen either during the visit or in a phone conversation.

Additionally, according to Bloomberg, the new version of the plan removed the point about allocating around $100 billion from frozen Russian assets to create a Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine under U.S. control. This change was positively received by European officials, as the previous proposal implied the distribution of 50% of profits to the U.S. and the use of unspent funds for a U.S.-Russian investment fund.

Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that after discussions in Geneva, the number of points in the peace plan has decreased: "It's no longer 28."
