Trump: The US peace plan for Ukraine was reduced from 28 to 22 points

According to Trump, many members of the Republican Party believed that the original plan of 28 points was "too favorable to Russia." When asked if the conditions had changed, Trump replied that it was merely a concept, not a full-fledged plan. He clarified that out of the 28 points, 22 were identified for which solutions had been found, and added, "Let's see what happens next."

The initial plan, which was later confirmed by the White House, consisted of 28 points. However, as reported by The Washington Post and Financial Times, after negotiations in Geneva involving Kyiv and its allies, the number of points was reduced to 19.

Advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Alexander Bevz, denied this information, noting that the discussed American plan had effectively lost its relevance, as some points were removed and others were changed. He added that provisions not related to Ukraine were excluded, as well as duplications.

According to sources from the publication "RBK-Ukraine," the new version of the American plan does not impose restrictions on the number of Armed Forces of Ukraine. Bloomberg also reports that the initiative excluded the point about unfreezing Russian assets that Moscow considers unlawful for use.

The removed points, it is reported, will be formalized into separate documents and considered at future negotiations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirmed that topics related to the European Union and NATO will be brought to a separate negotiation track to maintain unity with international partners. Russia opposes Ukraine's accession to NATO but supports its membership in the EU.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow received a draft of Trump's peace plan, which was formed based on agreements reached during the summit in Anchorage. He added that the updated plan, consisting of 19 points, had not been received by the Russian side.

According to Bloomberg, Russian authorities considered the peace plan for Ukraine reduced to 19 points to be unsuccessful. Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously stated that the original version proposed by the US could serve as a basis for a peaceful settlement.
