According to information from the publication, the first of the proposed scenarios suggests the possibility of a U.S. armed invasion of the island. The second option involves coercion, specifically offering the Danish government to buy Greenland, accompanied by promises of significant investments in the region's economy and improvements in the quality of life for local residents.

The third scenario considers signing a compact of free association. The Times points out that the U.S. already has similar agreements with several states in the Pacific region, such as the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and Palau. These agreements entail financial support from Washington in exchange for the transfer of defense powers while maintaining internal self-governance.

The fourth option implies that Greenland would remain under Danish control, but with an increased U.S. military presence on the island. This could include entering into commercial contracts with American companies involved in mineral exploration, as well as appointing advisors from the U.S. to local authorities.

The publication notes that all these scenarios differ in terms of political and military pressure, yet each of them implies an enhancement of U.S. influence over Greenland.
