Tokayev: Kazakhstan will become a reliable partner for the USA

“The world is entering an era where stability has become one of the rare strategic resources”

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, stated the country's readiness to become a reliable partner for the United States in his article published in the well-known American publication "The National Interest," which specializes in international issues.

Tokayev noted that we are in a period where stability represents one of the most scarce strategic resources. Conflicts are becoming increasingly frequent, and geopolitical rivalry is intensifying. As a result, international institutions are experiencing growing pressure due to polarization and a loss of public trust.

Global politics has developed over many years within the framework of the concept of globalization, which initially had no flaws. At first glance, its goal of creating an interconnected international order seemed reasonable and constructive.

However, over time, this concept has been distorted, transforming into a model based on ideological principles: inclusivity without accountability and freedom without limits, while ignoring the realities of sovereign societies and the opinions of pragmatists.

As a result, globalization has lost its legitimacy for millions of people around the world.

This loss of trust was not accidental. It arose against the backdrop of revelations about large-scale corruption entrenched in state and international structures, as well as in the political systems of leading countries. The involvement of well-known politicians in such schemes has intensified discontent with governments associated with leftist ideologies.

The current international situation demands pragmatism and realism. This shift became evident at the Munich conference, where high-ranking Western leaders emphasized the importance of respecting national interests, sovereignty, and stability, regardless of ideological dogmas.

The world is not rejecting cooperation but is rejecting illusions. The new doctrine requires that order be based on the rule of law, accountability, and respect for cultural identity. This is not isolationism but a sign of political maturity.

The area of conflict resolution is where the failure of the old model is most evident. The international community has relied for too long on endless negotiations and declarations that have led only to symbolic results. We see that agreements are not being fulfilled, diplomacy is yielding no results, and peace processes are not achieving their goals.

This approach is no longer acceptable.

That is why President Donald Trump's initiative to create a Council for Peace, supported by the UN, is a significant step forward. This is not just a forum for discussions but a practical initiative aimed at achieving real results, especially in Gaza and the Middle East.

The uniqueness of this initiative lies in its logic. Instead of repeating outdated political formulas, the White House offers a new approach: peace through sustainable economic development. This means that peace is viewed not as an abstract slogan but as a project that includes infrastructure, investments, and job creation, making the rekindling of conflicts senseless. Due to its novelty and ambitions, this initiative deserves international attention.

In Kazakhstan, the positive perception of political principles related to Trump's strategy is actively discussed at all levels: from common sense to the defense of traditional values and the assertion of national interests. The desire to end wars rather than prolong them also resonates.

These principles reflect the desires of most societies: security, stability, and dignity. Kazakhstan's support for this strategy has a practical basis, which prompted us to decide to join the Council for Peace with concrete actions.

This step logically continues the decision to join the Abraham Accords, which is not just a gesture but a strategic choice. Kazakhstan has always adhered to a balanced approach, supporting both Israel and the Palestinian people, as well as promoting the two-state solution as the only reliable basis for peace. This decision is also aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, attracting investments, and transferring technology. We also hope to expand dialogue between Muslims and Jews.

These steps strengthen the partnership with the USA.

Kazakhstan and the USA have built multifaceted cooperation based on respect and understanding. American companies have long been the largest investors in Kazakhstan, especially in the energy sector.

Now our cooperation covers new areas, including strategic minerals, digital infrastructure, advanced technologies, logistics, and innovation. One of the latest joint projects is the development of a major tungsten deposit in Kazakhstan with the participation of the American company Cove Capital. We plan to continue our cooperation for the benefit of both peoples.

In recent years, Kazakhstan has adhered to a strategy of modernization and integration into global markets, improving the investment climate and expanding regional connectivity. This has already led to GDP per capita reaching $15,000, strengthening Kazakhstan's status as the largest economy in Central Asia.

Our ambitions are clear: we want to become an important transport corridor between Asia and Europe, creating a modern economy based on technology and innovation.

Our efforts towards digital transformation and modernization of the public sector, including artificial intelligence, are not abstract. They are part of our strategy to create a competitive state capable of facing modern challenges.

Economic progress is also driven by serious institutional reforms. Kazakhstan is undergoing an important stage of political changes, transitioning from a super-presidential system to governance based on a balance of powers and accountability, following the principle of "Strong President, Influential Parliament, and Accountable Government."

This modernization program is approaching an important milestone. Kazakhstan is preparing for a nationwide referendum on a new Constitution that will strengthen state institutions and enhance accountability.

In the modern world, trust is built not on rhetoric but on consistency and accountability. Countries that fulfill their commitments and strive for practical cooperation form a solid foundation of trust.

Kazakhstan remains true to its aspiration to be a reliable and honest partner, valuing stability and achieving real results,” concluded the President of Kazakhstan.
