President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a speech at an expanded government meeting, according to information from Ulysmedia.kz.
Tokayev noted that the norms included in the draft of the new Constitution ensure the consistent development of Kazakhstan's political system, based on the principles of "Strong President – Influential Parliament – Accountable Government."
A review of political reforms in recent years shows that Kazakhstan is completing the era of super-presidential governance, transitioning to a presidential republic with a strong and influential Parliament. Tokayev stated that the proposed changes logically continue this process and, taking into account political transformations, including the constitutional reform of 2022, raise the question of the necessity for a complete reboot of the foundations of our state's Constitution.

The innovations will allow for the redistribution of powers, improve the balance of forces in the system of checks and balances, and enhance the effectiveness and resilience of all political institutions.
