The former head of colony No. 27 was detained in Bishkek on suspicion of receiving a bribe.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service, a citizen identified as K.Sh., born in 1969, filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies requesting intervention in the actions of the head of the correctional institution of the State Penitentiary Service.
It was revealed that in December 2025, this official received 30 thousand US dollars for facilitating the early conditional release of a convict who was serving a sentence for fraud under Article 209.
Based on this incident, the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 342 "Receiving a Bribe" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational measures, T.M., the former head of colony No. 27, born in 1984, was detained. He is currently placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs.
Necessary investigative actions are underway.
